In my recent visit to Campbell River, I was told to visit Jiggers for their fish and chips. I was not disappointed as they were great. The batter was nice and crispy and the fries were awesome.

The halibut was very tasty and crisp. The fries are terrific! I was not impressed with the clam chowder but I would be willing to give the Saturday seafood chowder a try so I’m going back tomorrow! My daughters plate was amazing. The delicious chunk of fish is so impressively thick!! Update*. We went the next day and wow I’m glad we did the Saturday seafood chowder was amazing and the one piece halibut was lightly battered, & not greasy. The place was clean and not terribly busy. I can’t wait to come back!

I can't believe it took me so long to finally try the legendary Jigger's fish and chips. Easily the best battered fish I've ever had, and my mother agrees (that's a big deal coming from a stout Brit!). I went for lunch with my mom yesterday. We both had the 2-piece halibut. Mom had hers with chips and I subbed my chips for caesar salad. Mom couldn't finish her chips and I couldn't finish my second piece of fish, so I got to have the experience again the following day hehe. I popped them in my air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them up again. Just so good. The batter is traditional, not panko. It's so light and crispy, and the fish is just outstanding. Jigger's is only open from about late spring to early fall, so if you're in the area and the time is right, definitely get in and give them your support! I wasn't a huge fan of the caesar salad. The dressing is obviously made on site, which is awesome. It is *VERY* garlicky, which I didn't mind, but fair warning to others. The main problem was the amount of dressing used. I felt it was far too much. The lettuce was heavy with it and while eating it I just felt like I had a mouthful of garlicky mayo. I don't know if it's always presented this way or if it was just the person working, but I definitely felt the salad was far too heavy on the dressing front. (I did not tell the server, that's my bad, I should have brought it up), but I still ate it and enjoyed it overall. Oh, it also comes topped with red onions which is a bit uncharacteristic of caesar salad, so if you're allergic or just not a fan of onions (me, lol), this is just a heads up to request no onions. The menu said nothing about onions if I recall correctly, so one wouldn't think to request omitting an ingredient if it isn't listed. They were easy to pick off, so it wasn't a big deal. Sorry about the picture, we'd already started eating by the time I thought to take one

We love Jiggers and come here every time we are in town. We ordered a 2 pc halibut and fries which is plenty to share between 2 people. The halibut is large hand sized pieces and the fries are skin on potatoes and crispy. The food is delicious but they only give tartar sauce in the teeny tiny little prepackaged to-go containers which is not nearly adequate- they should ask the people how much they need. I ordered take out & the waitress acted like I was an inconvenience to her to have to come to the take out ordering area; maybe she was having a bad day but she made me feel sad. The restaurant has a good sized parking lot with more ocean view parking just a short walk away.

By far the freshest seafood experience I've had in decades. The seafood chowder was rich and flavourful without being fishy. The deep fryer oil was clean and left the natural taste of the halibut to push through uninhibited. Jessica, our server, was incredibly fast and ruled the establishment by providing single server ownership of each table in a quick and efficient manner. Well done!

Very busy but actually super fast. Very nice two ladies working their tails off to make sure everyone gets everything exactly as requested. Halibut was super fresh and fluffy, fries were amazing and so was the coleslaw. Only suggestion would to make a home tartar sauce. But still a 5* visit. Definitely recommend if you’re going for great fish and chips in Campbell River. Also the views are amazing. Great location.

The location alone is worth the trip. If you're sitting outside or on the deck you enjoy a beautiful water view. We had the cod and chips and weren't disappointed. From the number of people enjoying their meals this evening it's definitely a popular place. Only open till 7pm.

Solid 4 Stars here. Halibut and fries were very good .... 1 piece of Halibut was a little doughy, the other piece perfect. Halibut burger was cooked just right and very tasty. Pretty Nice View at picnic tables out front, but parked cars in front of you can be obstructive. I'll be back

Nestled along the scenic waterfront of Campbell River, Jigger's Grill stands as a beacon for seafood lovers craving expertly grilled and fried delights. This local gem, located at 2660 Spit Rd, is renowned for its fresh, hand-cut halibut dishes—each one a testament to simplicity done right. The hallmark here is undeniably the halibut and chips, featuring thick, tender fillets cloaked in a light, crispy batter that manages to stay airy rather than greasy. It’s a texture and flavor profile that instantly elevates classic fish and chips to a refined comfort food experience.

The fries at Jigger's Grill deserve special mention as well—skin-on, perfectly crisped, and seasoned just enough to complement without overpowering. Many diners rave about the portion size, often sharing a two-piece halibut with fries between two, which speaks volumes about the generosity and satisfying nature of the servings.

Beyond halibut, the menu offers a range of options including the Jiggers Burger, Salisbury Steak, and a selection of oysters, catering to those seeking a hearty grill experience. Salads, like the house and Caesar varieties, are fresh, though the Caesar dressing, house-made and robustly garlicky, may polarize palates. The inclusion of red onions in the Caesar is an interesting twist, inviting diners to customize as needed.

Customer feedback echoes a consistent theme: freshness and quality are top priorities here. The fish retains its natural flavor, thanks in part to clean deep fryer oil and skilled preparation. The Saturday seafood chowder emerges as a standout, rich and flavorful without an overpowering fishiness, an encouraging offer for those keen to expand beyond traditional fried fare.

Jigger’s Grill operates seasonally from late spring through early fall, making it a must-visit destination when in Campbell River during these months. While service experiences may vary, the swift, attentive staffing noted by patrons adds to the overall appeal, allowing the flavors to shine without unnecessary delay.

In essence, Jigger’s Grill captures the heart of Pacific Northwest seafood cuisine—fresh, approachable, and satisfying. Whether you’re enjoying a succulent halibut burger with fries or savoring the delicacy of hand-battered two-piece halibut, this spot promises a memorable meal with true regional character.
